I get it - whether you have a toddler, a school aged child or a teenager, the idea of bringing your older children along to a newborn photography session can be nerve wracking.
They're only just getting used to their new sibling, you're learning how this parenting thing works with a whole new tiny person involved now too and the idea of getting everyone out of the house - let alone through a photo shoot - can seem like a mammoth task.
But, sibling and family photos are possibly the most important part of my job. When I look back on my own children's earliest photos together, I genuinely can't believe they were ever so small - or frankly so sweet to each other!
I promise that Little Works of Art is a judgement free zone. I know that gaining a sibling is a huge transition for any child and that they may not be on their very best behaviour that day and that is totally fine with me. I have a few techniques that should hopefully help your little ones be happy to snuggle their sibling in front of the camera, but I also have bucket loads of patience for if it's not going completely to plan.
And more often than not, parents are amazed at how readily their older children take to having their photos taken, and how beautifully they turn out.
